Autumn Fruit Chutney

Homemade Autumn Fruit Chutney 

This chutney goes wonderfully on Quebecois tourtière, pork chops, chicken, sausage…etc. Its wonderful during the fall and the holidays. I’m sure you’ll love this recipe and it will be a staple condiment on your table.

Ingredients:

1 tbs oil
1 large onion, chopped
1 Apple, chopped
1/2 cup dried apricot, chopped
1 celery stalk, chopped
1 large tomato, chopped
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup vinegar
10 cloves
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp fresh ginger
Pepper and salt to taste

Directions:

In a small pot on medium high heat add the oil, then the onions. Sauté until translucent ~5 min, then add apples and celery, stir and cook for another 5 min. Add all the other ingredients, stir and let it simmer for about 25 minutes until the liquid evaporates and you’re left with a gorgeous Chutney. Jar up the leftovers, sealed jars will last for a month in the fridge.
